Duties and Responsibilities
The Executive Council shall be composed of the Officers of the Association, the Chairperson of the Grievance Committee, and the Building Representatives.
From the WWTA Bylaws
The Executive Council shall
Act as advisors to the officers and have such policy making authority as provided in this Constitution and By-Laws;
Prepare recommendations for the consideration and action of the general membership of the Association;
Act as an authoritative voice of the Association on positions affecting the Association during the interim period between regular meetings;
Carry out policies established at general membership meetings;
Report transactions of the Executive Council to all Members;
Direct an independent audit of the Association's financial records at regular intervals not to exceed two (2) years.
Building Representative
Attend a training session which time and place shall be set by the Co-Presidents;
Attend all Executive Council meetings (or, in the case of absence, designate and alternate to attend) and disseminate information for Executive Council to members within one (1) week following the meeting;
Inform members in their building unit about any relevant Association business;
Organize building committees as needed;
Carry out election procedures at the building level;
Collect any Association funds at the building level and convey them promptly to
the Association Treasurer;Assist in membership drives by participation in:
Summer mailing
First full staff meeting (fall)
Any follow-up for membership dues or collections
Assist in distribution of ballots at the building level for Association-wide elections;
Act as a consultant to the individual member who has a professional problem and,when necessary, seek needed assistance for the local Association or Uniserv consultant;
Transmit proposals and recommendations from membership in the building or representational unit to the Executive Council for its consideration;
Mid-September and mid-January do a class size check-in with staff and report any concerns to building administrators
